Q. What step should I take to prepare my home for a luxury hot tub?
A. Before purchasing and installing your used or new hot tub, you will need to make sure three factors are taken care of:
- Level surface to place your luxury hot tub on. You’ll want to ensure that your home is equipped with a deck or concrete pad (we recommend 4”) capable of holding 150 lbs of weight per square foot. While 8x8 is a standard size, you can also plan to customize your spa pad with a specific size or features like stairs.
- Electrical hook up dedicated to your hot tub. Both 240 volt and 120 volt spas are available. As hot tub dealers, The Place will not be able to manage your electrical hook up for you, but can help you choose the hot tub that is most compatible with your electrical resources.
Water source to fill your hot tub. While hot tubs require no plumbing hook up, you will need an accessible garden hose to fill them. The Place recommends city water for filling your hot tub.
